IQA European Quiz
Championships: 2006 Lésigny (Paris)
Again, the EQC growed substantially. On this EQC, which took place in France
but which was organised by IQA UK, quiz enthusiast from Lithuania, France and
Germany made their first appearances.
Also a first was the 'Aspirational Cup' in which quiz players that were not
selected for their national teams could experience the format of the
international matches. Also a big success were the demonstration quizzes from Lithuania
and Estonia (Lithuanian quiz can be downloaded) and the improvised Dutch quiz.
Media attention again was big with 2 camera crews shooting for 3 days in order
to turn the EQC into quiz documentaries. An overview of the media attention

2. Lithuanian Quiz Demonstration
In Lithuania, Quizzing is somewhat different from the rest of Europe. It is more a combination of knowledge and the ability of logic thought. More info on Wikipedia.
Two teams (of 5 per team) normally play their game. The squad that gives the
correct answer to a question first gains a point. But when neither team knows
the answer in a specified maximum time, the presentor (in our case the lovely
Lina K.) querries the audience for their guesses, giving rise to ludicrous
answers and ironic felicitations. A real two thumbs up this quiz. Hopefully we
acn convince the Lithuanians to organise a demonstration on the EQC next year
too.

3. Dutch Improvisation Quiz
The Dutch Quiz (including sung music questions) was organised by 2 crazy Dutchmen Erik and Roelof. They didn't win any quizzes themselves, but I'm pretty sure these guys had a great time in Paris.
