The 'Aspirational cup' was won by 'England B' who beat previous years champions 'Smurfs' in the finals.
(Engeland B consisted of Ian Bayley, David Stainer, Kathryn Johnson en Nick Mills ;
The Smurf were represented by Bart Permentier, Marnix Baes, Koen Vervremd en Jo Vandenbroucke)

The other teams that qualified for the semi finals were 'Lars and the Medics' and 'Belgian Anarchy'.

1. Results of the 'Rinus Uijl Memorial Quiz'

A quiz was organised with as theme 'Einstein' to commemorate Rinus Uijl of IQA Holland who passed away just weeks after having won the nomination to host the 2009 EQC.

In each question of that mini-quiz (30q), which ranged all possible subjects, the name 'Einstein' was mentioned at least once.

The quiz was won by Olav Bjortomt and David Stainer who scored 24/30.

 

2. Results of the Mythology Quiz

In this quiz the pairs answered 30 questions on mythology and related subjects, with the possibility to use a lifeline six times.

The quiz was won by Barry Simmons and Rob Hannah who scored 26/30, with three of their points coming from the lifeline.

At the 2010 EQC the decision will be made who will host the next EQC.
